Hotels in Dubai and Sharjah evict Russian tourists who cannot fly out of the UAE due to the closure of the airspace immediately after the end of the paid period of stay. This was announced on March 1 in the Telegram channel of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).

"In Dubai and Sharjah, tourists are currently being evicted at the end of their paid stay. Tour operators are independently engaged in extending accommodation and searching for alternative options for their clients, while independent tourists have to solve the issue of accommodation and look for available hotel rooms on their own," said ATOR Vice President Artur Muradyan.

Earlier it was reported that the authorities of Abu Dhabi and Ras al Khaimah took over the costs of extending the stay of tourists stranded in the country due to flight restrictions.

ATOR estimates that about 6-8 thousand Russian tourists with tickets for connecting flights through the Persian Gulf countries cannot return to Russia due to the temporary closure of airspace in the region.

The ban was introduced against the background of a sharp escalation of the situation in the Middle East after the Israeli and US strikes on Iran on February 28. The Russian Embassy in the UAE urged tourists to remain calm and keep an eye on updates on airline and airport websites. Air carriers, in turn, offer passengers to hand over or exchange tickets.
