Pakistan claims 415 dead Afghan soldiers during the conflict

Afghanistan lost 995 people killed and wounded during the conflict with Pakistan. This was announced on March 1 by Attaullah Tarar, Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan.

"A summary of the losses of the Taliban in Afghanistan: 415 dead, more than 580 wounded," the report says.

According to Tarar, the airstrikes were carried out on 46 targets in the territory of the neighboring country. The Pakistani army destroyed 182 Afghan checkpoints, and took control of 31 more. In addition, the armed forces hit over 185 enemy armored vehicles.

On February 27, a new wave of retaliatory attacks by Afghan forces on posts of the military regime of Pakistan began in the areas of Zazi Maidan, Alisher and Terezai, along the Durand line. Pakistani militiamen opened fire on the Afghan military from armored tanks. The Afghan border guards responded with fire using armored vehicles and artillery.

On February 26, a representative of the Taliban movement of the 201st Khalid ibn Walid Army Corps reported that armed clashes had occurred on the border. As a result, 72 Taliban were killed on the border, and more than 100 were injured. Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has warned the Afghan government of the outbreak of an "open war."

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on February 27 that Russia was counting on a cessation of hostilities between Afghanistan and Pakistan. The presidential spokesman added that the Russian Federation is monitoring developments on the border of the two countries, while stressing that it is too early to draw any conclusions.
