The share of hard-to-recover reserves (TRIZ) in oil production in Russia may grow to 83% by 2035. At the current production rate, Russia's reserves will last for 62 years. This became known on February 27 from a presentation by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, which he prepared for an open meeting with students at Sirius.

"In the future, we will be forced not to increase production, but to maintain the current level. This will make everything more difficult. At the same time, conditions for mining are deteriorating in the world as a whole, so the main struggle and competition is for technology," TASS quoted him as saying.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the state's task is to maintain oil reserves in the range of 30 to 50 years in order to maintain a stable balance. Novak noted that the government, the Ministry of Natural Resources and geologists are constantly searching and drilling to increase reserves.

On the same day, Alexander Novak announced that over the past year, Russia had exported 238 million tons of oil and 114 million tons of petroleum products. It was clarified that the main buyers of Russian oil are China and India. In addition, the volume of profitable oil reserves in Russia is estimated at 15 billion tons, and geological recoverable reserves at 31 billion tons.
