The Sun revealed details of Hawking's photo from the Epstein case file

The women in swimsuits who appeared in the archive photo with British physicist Stephen Hawking were his nurses. This was reported on February 25 by the British newspaper The Sun, citing a representative of the scientist's family.

"A representative of the Hawking family claims that the two women were long—time nurses from the UK who worked for him," the publication says.

The photo turned out to be among the documents released by the Ministry of Justice of the United States as part of the investigation into the case of financier Jeffrey Epstein, previously accused of sexual crimes.

As the family representative explained, the women accompanied Hawking on trips and provided him with the necessary medical support. The scientist needed constant care due to progressive myotrophic lateral sclerosis. The source stressed that any assumptions about the physicist's involvement in the Epstein case are groundless and false.

According to the publication, the picture was taken in 2006 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel on the island of St. Thomas after a scientific event dedicated to quantum cosmology. Epstein attended the meeting and funded the participation of more than twenty researchers, including Hawking.
