Investigators have expanded the search area for a nine-year-old girl who disappeared in the Smolensk region. This was reported on February 25 in the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
"The investigation of the criminal case into the child's unknown disappearance continues in Smolensk. <...> The investigation has decided to expand the search area for the girl, as part of which large—scale activities are continuing," the agency wrote on the MAX messenger channel.
According to the report, investigators are working on various versions of the girl's disappearance. In addition, to establish her location, an inspection of the items seized during the investigation and other investigative actions are carried out.
A nine-year-old girl disappeared in Smolensk while walking her dog a day earlier. According to investigators, the child went outside at about 08:00 Moscow time from the house on Marshal Yeremenko Street. A source told Izvestia that an hour later, the girl's mother began to worry and went to look for her daughter. However, the woman managed to find only a dog.
