The U.S. Treasury Department has expanded the sanctions list to include three Russian citizens, one person from Uzbekistan, and three companies from Russia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This was announced on February 24 by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
It is clarified that sanctions against individuals and legal entities were imposed due to threats in the field of cybersecurity.
The list includes companies MATRIX LLC, Advance Security Solutions and Special Technology Services LLC FZ, as well as Sergey Zelenyuk, Oleg Kucherov, Marina Vasanovich and Azizjon Mamashoev.
Robert Agee, Chief Executive Officer of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia (AmCham), said on February 20 at the international forum "Building a Space of Trust and Development in the Context of Global Disunity" that the organization was promoting the idea of lifting sanctions against Moscow, starting with the banking sector.
On February 19, the United States extended the sanctions previously imposed on Russia for a year. It was noted that the restrictions were introduced against the background of the conflict in Ukraine.
