In conversation with Lenta.On Tuesday, February 24, the expert noted that domestic drunkenness is regular alcohol consumption without obvious signs of dependence, binge drinking and serious medical or social consequences, which remains a part of a person's daily life. The narcologist explained that domestic drunkenness is considered a risk zone that precedes the development of addiction. According to him, this is regular alcohol consumption, which becomes a part of daily life and a way to cope with stress, anxiety or fatigue, when alcohol is used almost every day, and sober days are becoming rare.

The doctor noted that people often do not perceive the situation as a problem, but there are disturbing signs — a decrease in criticality for use, irritation at the comments of loved ones and attempts to justify the habit. He stressed that it is not the amount of alcohol that is more important, but its role in life: if it is difficult to cope with emotions without it, it is worth contacting a specialist.
