KKS terminated the powers of the chairman of the Istra City Court of the Moscow region

The Qualification Board of Judges of the Moscow Region prematurely terminated the powers of Irina Putynets, chairman of the Istra City Court of the Moscow region, who arrested Aliya Galitskaya, the deceased ex-wife of businessman Alexander Galitsky. This was reported to Izvestia on February 20 by the press service of the board.

"The Qualification Board of judges has satisfied Irina Putynets' application for early termination of her powers as chairman of the Istra City Court of the Moscow Region with the resignation of a judge of the said court," the press service said.

On the same day, the court refused to lift the seizure of the property and suspended the consideration of the claim until the legal successor of the deceased spouse appeared in the case of the division of the jointly acquired property of the ex-spouses Aliya and Alexander Galitsky. According to the lawyer, the marriage registered in the Las Vegas chapel has no legal effect in Russia.

On February 18, the Moscow Regional Court overturned the decision of the court of first instance to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention in respect of Galitsky's late ex-wife Aliya, a suspect in the extortion case. The Court pointed out that there was no proper motivation for choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention. Judge Fedor Grigoriev, who sent Aliya Galitskaya to jail, has resigned.

Galitskaya's arrest became known on February 6 in connection with the extortion of $ 150 million from her ex-husband. It was noted that she was supposed to be in custody until April 3, but on February 8, Eva Merkacheva, a member of the Human Rights Council and a journalist, reported that Aliya Galitskaya had committed suicide in a temporary detention facility. According to the human rights defender, the woman was in solitary confinement. The note she left contained an accusation against Galitsky. As a result, a criminal case was opened against Aliya Galitskaya for defamation of her ex-spouse.
