Medvedev pointed to the neglect of Callas by European colleagues.
European colleagues and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio do not communicate with the head of the European diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, and do not consider it appropriate to condescend to her level. This was announced on February 20 by Dmitry Medveev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council.
"With this man (Callas. — Ed.) even colleagues don't communicate. That is, apparently, they do not consider it appropriate for themselves to condescend to the level of the entire high Representative for international Affairs of the European Union in order to hold a meeting with her," he said in a video posted on his channel in the MAX messenger.
On the same day, Leonid Ivlev, a State Duma deputy from Crimea, called Callas' demands on Russia in Ukraine paranoia. He also drew attention to the fact that the foreign ministers of many European countries do not communicate with the head of the European diplomacy. Dmitry Belik, a deputy of the State Duma from Sevastopol, a member of the International Affairs Committee, added that Callas was "howling at the moon" out of anger and impotence, making a list of demands on the Russian Federation. He stressed that the European Union had long ago "dropped out" of the negotiation process on Ukraine.
On February 19, Kallas sent a document to the EU countries listing the requirements for Russia in Ukraine. It was noted that the requirements included a numerical reduction of Russian troops and their withdrawal from some territories, similar to Ukraine.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at the same time called Callas evidence of a bad century of European diplomacy. According to him, her work as head of the EU's foreign policy service confirms that the agency is experiencing a deep decline.
