Medvedev named a condition for the return of foreign companies to Russia

Only those foreign companies that do not interfere with its development will return to Russia. This was stated on February 27 by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, during a visit to the Ural Locomotives plant in the Sverdlovsk Region.

"We will let in or return only those (foreign companies — Ed.) who will not interfere with us," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on February 13 that Russia, against the background of the desire of some American companies to return with their business to the Russian Federation, offers mutually beneficial cooperation in which both countries are interested.

Entrepreneurs are interested in unfreezing projects in agriculture, medicine, and smart cities.

As Alexander Shokhin, head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), told Izvestia on December 23, 2025, foreign companies are preparing to return to Russia and will find an opportunity to do so by registering their brands in our country. He also said that Russian and American businesses continue an informal dialogue, and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs is trying to prevent US companies from leaving Russia.

In July of the same year, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed his intention to support the promotion of Russian brands. According to him, successful Russian companies are already working in the field of food production, clothing, as well as high technologies, including the use of artificial intelligence.
