The solemn ceremony of extinguishing the marked postcard dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the TASS Newsreel took place on February 17 in Moscow.

TASS CEO Andrey Kondrashov thanked Elena and Galina Gagarin for agreeing to issue postcards with the image of their father, Yuri Gagarin, noting that this year marks the 65th anniversary of the first human spaceflight.

"The TASS newsreel turned 100 years old. And, of course, there is no topic that our photojournalists would not record on their film. Of course, we are proud of it. Today, the TASS Media Bank is probably the most comprehensive in our country. There is a documented, most true story of our country. This is something that no one will ever be able to refute. This is a visual biography of Russia," Kondrashov said.

He stressed that the traditions of military photography are continued today by correspondents working in the special military operation zone.

"Right now, we have 17 people working on the front line. And, of course, we write the chronicle of our country every day," the TASS Director General added.

According to Kondrashov, the photo editing also focuses on the work of all levels of government, scientific projects, Arctic exploration, space and youth policy. He noted that despite attempts to exclude Russia from international competitions, TASS photographers continue to win.

The event was attended by veterans of the agency, including Yuri Rodionov, who has worked at TASS for more than 50 years, as well as young photojournalists. An exhibition of historical equipment, including cameras from the time of the Great Patriotic War, was presented during the ceremony.

On the eve of the Moscow Mayor's portal mos.ru It was reported that the Hermitage pavilion of the Kuskovo Estate hosts the Saga of Glass exhibition, which features works by Honored Artist of Russia Alexander Ivanov and members of his family. The exhibition brings together the works of the master himself, his wife Galina, daughter Irina and granddaughter Ekaterina. All of them work with glass, passing on professional skills from generation to generation.
