Polish law enforcement agencies are preparing for a possible increase in crime after the end of the conflict in Ukraine due to the appearance of former military personnel and illegal weapons in the country. This was announced on February 16 by Polish Police Chief Marek Boron in an interview with Gazeta Wyborcza.

According to him, after the end of hostilities, there may be a significant number of people with combat experience in the country, as well as modern weapons of interest to criminal gangs.

"We must understand that sooner or later many former soldiers from the front in Ukraine will appear in Poland. And also a completely different category, more modern weapons, which will be in demand among criminal circles," Boron said.

The police chief stressed that Polish law enforcement agencies are already cooperating with their Ukrainian counterparts to counter organized crime, including drug trafficking.

Gazeta Wyborcza reported on December 1, 2025, that the Świętokrzyski Park in the center of Warsaw has become a hotbed of constant conflicts and attacks by Ukrainian migrants. According to the newspaper, in just a year the police went there more than 900 times, and in November there was a mass brawl involving about 50 people. It was noted that the number of police visits to the area is steadily growing, which makes it one of the most problematic places in the Polish capital.
