Lightning-2 attack drones hit the dugouts and control points of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Calculations of strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Molniya-2 aircraft type destroyed fortified positions and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Sumy region. This was announced on February 17 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry noted that units of the North group of forces continue to expand the security zone in the border areas of Sumy and Kharkiv regions. Attack drones are used to destroy dugouts, drone control points, equipment and small mobile groups of the enemy, which disrupts rotations and attempts at counterattacks.

The squad leader with the call sign Mura said that the calculations are based on a clear algorithm.

"First, a scout flies. <...> He determines the target, reports to us, drops the coordinates. And we are already flying at these coordinates. <...> The enemy has not been the same for a long time. They have very little strength left," he explained.

The soldier stressed that the high range, autonomy and noise immunity of the Lightning-2 make it possible to hit targets without entering the range of weapons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported on February 16 that units of the North group of forces continue to expand the security zone in the border areas of Sumy and Kharkiv regions. Troops are advancing daily, pushing the enemy away from the state border and reducing the threat of shelling of civilians. In the course of offensive operations, units of unmanned systems troops play a significant role, providing reconnaissance and correction of strikes. In addition, the forces of the 34th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade liberated the village of Pokrovka in the Sumy region.
