Negotiations on Ukraine will be held on February 17 and 18 in Geneva.
The next round of negotiations between Russia, the United States and Ukraine will be held on February 17-18 in Geneva. This was announced on Friday, February 13, by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"The next round of negotiations on the Ukrainian settlement will also take place in the trilateral Russian-American-Ukrainian format on February 17-18 in Geneva," he said.
Peskov clarified that during the designated period, the Russian delegation will be headed by Vladimir Medinsky, assistant to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
After the completion of the first round of negotiations, on January 28, the Kremlin's official representative said that the Russian government positively assessed the beginning of direct contacts between Moscow and Kiev. At the same time, he called the negotiations on Ukraine that ended in Abu Dhabi "sensitive and difficult."
The Atlantic magazine, citing advisers to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, said on February 12 that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) could leave the territory of Donbass. Last December, Putin stressed that the Russian Federation would liberate Donbass and Novorossiya in any case, by military means or otherwise. He noted that Russia offered Ukraine to withdraw troops from Donbass and not to start military operations, but Kiev chose to fight.
