Chinese President Xi Jinping praised the fight against corruption in the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) over the past year. This was announced on February 11 on the website of the State Council of the People's Republic of China.
"All tasks have been successfully completed, and the army has once again proved its complete reliability and integrity," Xi Jinping stressed.
According to him, the army deepened its political reform, effectively responded to risks and challenges, and underwent a "revolutionary training" in the fight against corruption.
The Chinese leader noted that the vast majority of PLA officers and soldiers, especially the rank and file, firmly followed the leadership of the party, faithfully performed their duties and concentrated on overcoming difficulties.
CCTV TV channel reported on January 31 that investigations into suspected corruption had been initiated against the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of China, Wang Xiangxi. It is noted that he is currently under supervision while the investigation continues.
