Dozens of people gathered on the territory of the Southern Cemetery of St. Petersburg to say goodbye to the murdered nine-year—old Pasha Tifitulin - grieving people carry flowers and exchange short speeches with each other. Izvestia publishes footage from the venue of the ceremony on February 11.
Nikita Sorokin, a lawyer for the boy's family, previously reported on the Telegram channel that everyone could come to the central square of the cemetery and gather in the opposite direction from the chapel, where a spontaneous memorial surrounded by funeral flower arrangements was organized inside a blue tent.
The newcomers, forming a queue, stand under the fine snow, wipe away their tears and support each other. Many carry red carnations, white roses and chrysanthemums in their hands. The place of farewell is guarded by representatives of law enforcement agencies and the Russian Guard.
Pasha's disappearance became known on February 1. Then it was reported that the child had already been searched for three days. At that time, surveillance cameras were examined, and later information appeared about the possible abduction of a minor. A source told Izvestia the next day that the alleged kidnapper, who arrived in St. Petersburg from the Luhansk People's Republic, offered children to ride his car in the parking lot of a hypermarket for money.
The arrest of a man in the case of the abduction of a nine-year-old boy became known on February 3. He confessed that he drowned Pasha in one of the local reservoirs for allegedly blackmailing him with information about the content of child pornography on the laptop. The criminal clarified that he had previously known the victim, as he repeatedly washed his car.
On February 3, Izvestia visited the place where the bound body of a minor was found. At the same time, it became known that the deceased was brought up in a large and, previously, dysfunctional family that was starving. The source clarified that none of the relatives of Pasha, who had never attended school, knew that he was wiping the headlights in parking lots.
On the same day, Tatyana Butskaya, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, first deputy chairman of the Committee for the Protection of the Family, Fatherhood, Motherhood and Childhood, called on the authorities of St. Petersburg to give a report on the living conditions of the murdered boy. On February 3, the court arrested the suspect in the boy's murder, Pyotr Zhilkin, for 1 month and 30 days. He is charged under paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder of a minor").
On February 6, the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation announced that a criminal case had been opened into the tragedy in accordance with Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Negligence that negligently caused serious harm to health or death of a person) against the management of one of the schools and a social service institution in the Krasnoselsky district of the city.
