On February 10, Russian figure skater Pyotr Gumennik performed first in the men's short program of the Winter Olympic Games. His performance began at 20:30 Moscow time.

He received 86.72 points from the judges for his performance. After him, 29 more athletes will perform.

Humennik performed to the music of Waltz 1805 by composer Edgar Hakobyan. The composition was determined at the last moment, as the athlete had to urgently change the music on the eve of the start due to copyright issues.

At the 2026 Olympic Games, the Russian has one of the most technically difficult numbers - five quadruple jumps in the free program. Ilya Averbukh, the silver medalist of the previous games, noted that the figure skater has a very strong content. According to him, he has every chance to compete for a place on the podium, but everything will depend on the purity of the performance.
