The Moscow court refused to lift the seizure of Galitsky's property
On February 10, the Presnensky Court of Moscow rejected the petition of Alexander Galitsky, a billionaire and former member of the board of directors of Alfa-Bank, to lift the seizure of his property, an Izvestia correspondent reported from the courtroom.
It is noted that the court session was held as part of the consideration of the case on the division of Galitsky's property with his ex-wife Aliya Galitskaya. At the same time, Galitsky's lawyer Alexander Dobrovinsky stated at the meeting that his client's marriage to Aliya had been declared invalid in the United States, and also noted that the spouses had no grounds for property claims against each other.
"My client has been married to another woman since 1988, and this marriage has not been legally interrupted. At the same time, the Nevada state court declared the marriage of Galitsky and Galitskaya, concluded in the United States, invalid," Dobrovinsky said after the meeting.
In addition, the court of the capital postponed the hearing on the case to February 20 in order to obtain the necessary documents confirming Galitskaya's death in a temporary detention facility.
Information about Galitskaya's arrest appeared on February 6 in connection with the extortion of $ 150 million from her ex-husband. She was supposed to be in custody until April 3. On February 8, Eva Merkacheva, a member of the Human Rights Council and a journalist, reported that Galitskaya had committed suicide in an IVS. In the note she left, the woman accused her ex-husband.
On February 8, a criminal case was opened against Galitskaya for Galitsky's defamation. At the same time, this became the second extortion case, because of which Galitskaya was under arrest.
Galitsky's property worth 435 million rubles was seized by the Presnensky Court of the capital in October last year. The list of seized property includes several real estate objects, including an apartment on Patriarch's Ponds, a cottage in the village of Millennium Park on Novorizhskoye Highway, an apartment in the Turgenev clubhouse, as well as three parking spaces for a car.
