- The State Duma called for the introduction of paid days off for parents of schoolchildren
In Russia, it has been proposed to introduce additional paid days off for working parents to attend their children's school events. The corresponding initiative was sent by Boris Chernyshov, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma, to Anton Kotyakov, Minister of Labor.
"I ask you to consider the possibility of securing at the legislative level the right of every working parent (legal representative) to three additional paid days per calendar year to participate in school events and activities of their child," the document says. Lenta.Ru .
He also noted that such days can be used to attend parent-teacher conferences, matinees, sports events, creative contests, open days and other significant events in a student's life.
The parliamentarian added that now many parents have to take days off at their own expense, which creates difficulties with the employer. The legislative consolidation of this measure, in his opinion, will simplify personnel records management and create a unified approach for all employees with children.
On January 23, deputy Dmitry Svishchev proposed providing paid leave to parents of children who won a gold medal or won the All-Russian Olympiad. According to the initiative, one of the parents will be provided with an additional paid leave of five calendar days.
