The first season of The Bridgertons was released in December 2020, and the second followed in March 2022. How does "Bridgetons" differ from other TV series

The series was based on the novels of Julia Queen. The Bridgerton cycle (2002-2006) consists of eight books, each of which is dedicated to one of the family's children, and the collection published in 2013 reveals their future fate.

The series takes place in a notional Britain of the early 19th century, but with differences: the series demonstrates racial diversity. In the story, King George III married dark-skinned Charlotte, which changed the social structure of society and made it more diverse. By the end of the season, Penelope has to reveal her secret, after which she marries Colin, reconciles with her family, receives forgiveness from Queen Charlotte and becomes the mother of a son who will become Lord Featherington.

In the season finale, he only casually mentions that he is going to attend a masquerade ball organized by his mother. It is at such a ball, according to the plot of Julia Queen's novel "The Gentleman's Proposal," that Benedict first meets his beloved Sophie Beckett.

The role of Sophie in the series will be played by actress Erin Ha, as Variety reported in August. Viewers are already familiar with her from the Halo series, an adaptation of the popular video game, as well as from the Dune: Prophecy project (2024), where Ha played a young version of the heroine Kashi.
