In February, schoolchildren and their parents will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the large-scale film version of Pushkin's "The Tale of Tsar Saltan", and fans of Mikhail Gorshenin and Andrey Knyazev will see a widescreen version of the adventures of the Pot and the Prince in the film "The King and the Fool. Forever." Izvestia reports on the most interesting film premieres in February.

Special Services officer Mason has seen too much blood in his life. Having decided that he had had enough, he resigned and went to the edge of the world — to a remote island in Scotland, which can only be reached in good weather. He doesn't want to meet people from the outside world, but one day, during a storm, he saves a girl and unwittingly sets off a chain of events that will put an end to his solitary existence. To protect the child and himself, Mason will have to remember his past and demonstrate that it is too early to write him off...

Films with Jason Statham have long since become a separate film genre. They appear on screens about once a year — often enough that fans don't have time to get bored, and everyone else gets tired of the monotony. Even their plot is basically the same: Statham's character is a retired soldier who returns to the ranks for revenge and saving a child. However, the bald spot, which used to be part of the image of a true macho man, is gradually becoming evidence of the years he has lived, so Jason increasingly appears on the screen in a hat. However, this does not negate the traditionally driving plot and high-quality combat scenes.

"Yura was here"

Three young musicians, having formed their own band, live in the same apartment and dream of fame. But one day, on the eve of a concert, relatives force one of the guys to take care of an uncle named Yura for 10 days. He suffers from mental disorders and hardly speaks, and the need to live next to a disabled person initially becomes a difficult ordeal for his musician friends. However, they are gradually learning to understand each other, and this helps them to take a fresh look at their own aspirations, priorities and plans.

In recent years, Konstantin Khabensky has managed to fully experience the "John Travolta syndrome": the growing frequency of his appearance on the screen was inversely proportional to the quality of the roles. "Yura was Here" has a chance to become his personal "Pulp Fiction": in the role of a weakly self-aware, almost the entire film of a silent man of indeterminate age, he is incredibly organic and convincing as an actor. However, the acting work of Kuzma Kotrelev, Denis Paramonov and Alexander Porshin, who played musical friends, also deserves every praise. A psychological, subtle and multifaceted film that does not offend the viewer with flat morals is certainly worth paying attention to.

Valya, the saleswoman, is lonely, and everyone around her seems to have conspired: her mother has a new admirer, her friend has an unearthly love, and even the very old director of the store where Valentina works seems to have found the woman of his dreams. Valya is so annoyed by the universal infatuation that she begins to have a real allergy: in the presence of lovers, she is irresistibly drawn to sneeze. Besides, this allergy is contagious.: whoever Valentine sneezes at is immediately drawn to quarrel and break up with her lover. In a matter of days, Valya has ruined the personal lives of all her family and friends — and, realizing this, she and her old friend are trying to find a way to put everything back in place — and maybe even change their views on love herself...

The comedy "Unholy Valentine" will appear on the big screens at the right time and in the right place: on the eve of February 14, every student will have time to take their soulmate to the cinema, thereby worthily celebrating a foreign holiday. Marking 12+ makes the film quite suitable for family viewing, so that couples can also remember their youth with their children. In addition, the beautiful Anastasia Krasovskaya looks good with red hair color: a suitable date and a great reason to remember about the image, especially for those who, like the unholy Valentina, have yet to find their happiness.

Tsar Saltan, having discovered a beautiful woman in a village hut who dreams of giving birth to a heroic heir to the throne, could not resist the temptation, and the child virgin Annushka became his wife. Her stepmother and sisters also got into the palace, but envy does not allow them to be happy for Annushka. Having deceived the king, they condemn the young queen and her son to death, but by the will of fate, the baby manages not only to survive with his mother, but also to become the ruler of a fabulous kingdom, where, in the end, justice will prevail and the main villains of this story will be punished...

It's hard not to feel awkward retelling one of Pushkin's most famous fairy tales, but director Sarik Andreasyan seems to be devoid of such feelings. With an unwavering hand, he unfolds an epic canvas in front of the audience, complementing Pushkin's poetic lines with prose inserts by screenwriters providing humanitarian assistance to "our everything." Creative courage is worthy of all respect, but the audience of the film tale is unclear: by the age of 6, indicated in the age rating, it seems that all parents already have time to read Pushkin's text to their children. However, the picture was a success — bright, wide, rich: maybe it will entertain the students. At the very least, they will laugh at the prince in the guise of a mosquito — the bug-eyed monster in a crown would draw out the entire comic semantic series, if it were at least a little inherent in the Pushkin plot.

The series "The King and the Fool" was released on TV screens in 2024 and unexpectedly became a hit: the fans of the band, it seems, turned out to be much more numerous than even the optimistic creators of the show expected. Such success simply had to be developed, so it was only a matter of time before a full-screen version or a second season of the series appeared. The choice fell on the big screen. The film takes place in the same fairy-tale universe of "The King and the Fool" and continues the events of the series. This time, the punk fairy tale is in trouble: it is about to be captured by the dead, raised from their graves by an evil Necromancer. The pot invites the very real Andrey Knyazev into the world of legends, and now the two of them have to save not just one princess, but the whole world from fairy-tale monsters.

The roles of the Pot and the Prince are still played by Konstantin Plotnikov and Vlad Konoplev. In the role of a Necromancer, 25—year-old Ilya Grishin is the owner of a completely infernal appearance. His main henchman named Sid (an unobtrusive reference to Sid Vicious, the creators of the picture admit the obvious in a whisper) The singer of Jane Air, Anton Lissov, played, who performed a cover of the song "Dead Anarchist" with his band.

"Couture"

At Paris Fashion Week, the fates of three women are intertwined: American director Maxine, who is going to shoot a new film here, Sudanese model Ada, who is taking the first steps in her career, and French makeup artist Angel. Each of them is looking for her own way of life, facing new opportunities and unexpected challenges, and each will have to demonstrate perseverance and fortitude to find herself in the noise, glitter and whirlpool of intrigues of the world of high fashion.

Frenchwoman Alice Vinokur is probably one of the best directors talking about the world of women on world screens today. She was nominated for awards at the Cannes Film Festival three times: in 2005 for the short film "The Kitchen", in 2012 for the historical medical drama "Augustine", which tells about the formation of psychotherapy, and finally, in 2012 for the thriller "The Bodyguard". "Couture" is another genre experiment by Distillers; perhaps this time she will still get the prize. Directed by Maxine Walker, Angelina Jolie has finally found herself in the roles of older women.
