In Italy, an 80-year-old man was suspected of killing civilians in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the siege of Sarajevo in the 1990s. This was reported on February 4 by the Italian newspaper I l Fatto quotidiano.
"[The investigation by the Milan Prosecutor's Office] led to the registration in the register of suspects of an 80-year-old former truck driver living in the province of Pordenone, accused of continuous and aggravated voluntary killing of unarmed civilians <...> during the war in Bosnia from 1992 to 1995," the publication says.
According to the newspaper, the defendant told a neighbor about the crime, who shared the story with a local television journalist. They will act as witnesses. The interrogation of the suspect himself will take place on February 9 at the Milan Prosecutor's office.
During a search of the man's house, seven types of weapons were found.
