The UK has opened a criminal case on the fact of an attempt on the life of a law enforcement officer in Moscow.

The investigative authorities of the Main Investigative Directorate (GSU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation have opened a criminal case on the fact of an attempt on the life of a law enforcement officer after a shootout with suspects in the abduction and murder of a man in a house on Rublyovskoe Highway in Moscow. This was announced on February 3 by the press service of the department in the MAX messenger.

"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (assault on the life of a law enforcement officer)," the publication says.

It is noted that the guards found two suspects in the entrance of an apartment building. One of them showed armed resistance during the arrest and was eliminated with a service weapon. The second attacker was detained, and the issue of his delivery to the investigative authorities in the Penza region is being resolved.

Criminologists of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Moscow region examined the scene of the incident. It is also planned to appoint a number of examinations.

Earlier in the day, Irina Volk, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, announced that one of the two suspects in the kidnapping and murder of a hostage committed in the Penza region had been eliminated in Moscow. The operation was carried out in one of the houses on Rublyovskoye highway in the capital.
