At least 49 people were killed in a landslide in Indonesia, 15 people are missing. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on January 31.

It is specified that the landslide occurred near the village of Pasir Langu in the Indonesian region of Bandung Barat. The disaster was caused by heavy rains.

According to the agency, 23 soldiers who were then on border patrol exercises were among the dead.

The landslide in Indonesia became known on January 24. Earlier, the Indonesian Meteorological Agency warned of heavy rains in the region during the week. A landslide caused by heavy rains descended in the village of Pasir Langu, located in a hilly area about 100 km southeast of Jakarta. The disaster destroyed more than 30 residential buildings.
