Kostyukov spoke about the language of negotiations on Ukraine in Abu Dhabi
The negotiations in Abu Dhabi on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict are conducted in Russian. This was announced on January 29 by the head of the Main Directorate of the General Staff (GRU) of the Russian Armed Forces, Admiral Igor Kostyukov.
"In the great Russian language," Kostyukov replied to the relevant question, his words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
Earlier, speaking about the mood of the negotiating groups at the meeting, Kostyukov noted that "Ukrainians were in a sad mood, but we were in a good mood."
The day before, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict in Abu Dhabi would continue on February 1. In addition, the Kremlin positively assessed the beginning of direct contacts between Russia and Ukraine.
At the same time, Peskov said that the negotiations on Ukraine in Abu Dhabi turned out to be very difficult and sensitive. He also noted that the Russian delegation at the talks regularly receives instructions from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
