- Volunteers defending the border with Rosgvardiya will be given the status of a veteran
On January 27, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree of the Russian government, according to which volunteers who assist the Rosgvardiya in protecting the state border will be awarded the title of combat veteran.
"Previously, veteran status was granted only to those who participated in the performance of tasks in the territories of Ukraine, the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic, as well as in the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions," TASS quotes the contents of the document.
According to the new regulations, the right to obtain a combat veteran's certificate now applies to volunteers who participated in "repelling an armed invasion of the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as during an armed provocation on the state border of the Russian Federation and the territories of the subjects of the Russian Federation adjacent to the areas of a special military operation."
In Russia, on January 9, the law on additional paid leave for law enforcement officers and law enforcement agencies from among combat veterans came into force. This category of citizens is entitled to leave without pay for up to 35 calendar days.
