Three people died off the coast of Oman when a boat capsized.
In Oman, near the coast of the capital Muscat, a pleasure boat carrying French tourists capsized. As a result of the incident, three people were killed and two more received minor injuries. This was announced by the Oman police on January 27.
According to preliminary data, the catamaran capsized at a distance of 2.5 nautical miles (4.6 km) from the port of Sultan Qaboos in Mattrakh. There were 25 French tourists, a guide and a captain on board the ship.
"As a result of the incident, three tourists were killed, two more received minor injuries," the Oman police said on the social network X (ex.Twitter).
According to the police, ambulance crews from the Civil Defense Department were working at the scene and provided assistance to the victims. The incident is under investigation.
The TRT Africa agency, citing officials from Yobe State, reported on January 4 that at least 25 people died in the crash of an overloaded canoe in Nigeria. It was noted that there were 52 passengers on board.
