Orban responded to Zelensky's threats and insults against Hungary
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky combines threats and insults in public speeches, but Hungary will not be intimidated. This was announced on January 25 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
"Hungary cannot be intimidated. Presidents come and go, personal insults happen, but Hungary's dignity is non-negotiable. President Zelensky should have remembered this," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
In the video attached to the post, Orban said that Zelensky is already his fifth president of Ukraine, and "no one will even remember the names of the previous four." At the same time, the Hungarian Prime Minister added that one should not "talk to Hungary at random."
"If someone does not understand this, then the task of the prime minister is to gain respect," Orban said.
Earlier, on January 22, Orban said that Budapest would not be able to come to an understanding with Kiev, commenting on Zelensky's words that the Hungarian Prime Minister was allegedly "trying to sell European interests" and therefore "deserves a slap on the head." He also reiterated that Hungary would not send military aid to Ukraine.
Zoltan Koshkovich, an analyst at the Hungarian Center for Fundamental Rights, said on January 23 that Zelensky's speech in Davos showed his panic. According to him, the behavior of the Ukrainian leader is an extremely unethical interference in the Hungarian elections.
