Naryshkin pointed to the ongoing line of Russophobes in Europe to defeat the Russian Federation

Public rhetoric about the need to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia on the battlefield has weakened recently, but the most Russophobic circles in Europe continue to adhere to this line. This was announced on January 25 by Sergey Naryshkin, Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR).

"Indeed, such incantations about inflicting strategic defeat on Russia have subsided in the public sphere. But only in public," Naryshkin told RIA Novosti.

According to him, a number of political and military elites in European countries are still focused on implementing a strategy to continue the conflict, including fighting to the "last Ukrainian soldier," maintaining economic pressure in the form of sanctions, as well as using political, information and cyber tools against Russia.

Naryshkin noted that the efforts made by the West are not yielding the expected results.
