"The Russian oil industry demonstrates stability, providing about 10% of global production. According to the results of last year, production amounted to about 512 million tons," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
He noted that Russia is seeing an increase in demand for traditional energy sources such as oil, gas and coal, with demand growing by 1% in 2025. Novak stressed that the share of friendly countries in Russia's oil supplies reached 90% last year. In addition, according to him, the growth of global oil consumption by 2050 may reach 15-20 million barrels per day.
Earlier, on January 11, Oleg Kazanov, head of Rosnedra, said that last year the increase in industrial reserves ready for oil production in Russia, according to preliminary data, amounted to 490 million tons, the corresponding figure for gas is 650 billion cubic meters. He clarified that the data obtained are not final, as currently part of the the objects are still under examination.
Prior to that, on January 10, Kirill Dmitriev, special representative of the President of the Russian Federation, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), pointed to a significant increase in exports of Russian petroleum products, which was recorded in 2025.
