The State Duma reported on the amount of children's sick leave in 2026 to 6.8 thousand rubles.

The amount of hospital child care allowance in 2026 will range from 900 to more than 6.8 thousand rubles per day, depending on the parent's salary. This was announced on January 22 by Ekaterina Stenyakina, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor and Social Policy.

"If a parent has a high enough salary, he earns more than 2 million rubles a year, then the maximum amount of sick leave in one day will be more than 6.8 thousand rubles," the deputy said in an interview with TASS.

This amount of payment is required provided that the parent's work experience exceeds eight years. If the length of service is less than eight years, the payment will be 80% of the average earnings, and if the length of service is less than five years — 60%.

"If the child is between zero and seven years old, then the reduction coefficient, which depends on the parent's length of service, is not included and the parent receives 100% of the set amount," Stenyakina explained.

If the salary is small or the length of service is less than six months, the benefit is calculated based on the minimum wage (over 27 thousand rubles in 2026). In this case, you can get from 860 to 980 rubles for a day of sick leave for a child under the age of seven. The amount of hospital payments is indexed annually.

Earlier, on January 20, it was reported that in order to receive the maximum maternity allowance in 2026, a woman must have an income of at least 2.225 million rubles for 2024 and 2.759 million rubles for 2025. The amount of the payment is calculated based on the income for the previous two years. The maximum amount of benefits for standard sick leave for 140 days may exceed 955 thousand rubles, and for complicated childbirth or the birth of several children — more than 1 million rubles.
