The authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran should show humanity towards participants in mass rallies that turned into protests. This was announced on Tuesday, January 13, by US President Donald Trump, who arrived at the Andrews US military base.

"They (Iran. — Ed.) humanity should be shown. They have big problems. And I hope they won't kill people," he told reporters.

The head of the White House said that in the near future he would be additionally informed about what is happening in the republic, however, as he stressed, according to available, unconfirmed reports, Tehran is "behaving very badly."

A day earlier, White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt, commenting on the protests that began in Iran, said that US President Donald Trump would not be afraid to use American military force against the Islamic Republic. On January 13, the head of the White House, calling on Iranian protesters to seize government institutions, appealed to his country's allies and citizens to leave Iran immediately. According to CBS, between 12,000 and 20,000 people could have died during the protests in Iran.
