Maduro's son delivered his message from prison, urging supporters not to be sad.
Abducted Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who is currently being held in an American prison, conveyed a message to supporters through his son Nicolas Maduro Guerra, in which he urged them not to be sad. This was reported on January 10 by the newspaper El Universal.
"The president told us that he was strong, that we shouldn't be sad. It reminds us that we are fighters," the words of the son of the Venezuelan leader are quoted in the text.
Maduro Jr. stressed that his father had asked his colleagues to move forward with their "heads held high", remembering their invincibility. The appeals of the Venezuelan president, as emphasized, were received with great enthusiasm and a "revolutionary response."
Maduro and his wife, Celia Flores, were captured and taken out of the country by the US military on January 3, when the United States, according to President Donald Trump, launched a large-scale strike on Venezuela.
The next day, the republic's leader was taken to the New York federal court to face charges. In court, he declared his innocence and said that he was still the president of his country.
The American court agreed to schedule a visit by consular officers to Venezuela. The judge ordered Maduro to appear in court on March 17 for a hearing. The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the US leadership to release Maduro.
