US President Donald Trump has received a report on options for potential strikes against Iran if the authorities begin to actively suppress the protests. This was reported on January 10 by The New York Times (NYT), citing American officials.

"In recent days, President Trump has been briefed on new options for military strikes against Iran as he considers making good on his threat to attack the country for its suppression of protests," the publication said.

It is noted that Trump has not yet made a decision on this issue. At the same time, he is "seriously considering" the possibility of military intervention in the situation in the Islamic Republic. The list of possible targets includes non-military facilities.

Earlier that day, The Wall Street Journal reported that the Trump administration initially discussed scenarios for a possible strike on Iran, if necessary. We are talking about standard planning without signs of preparation for real actions. There has been no transfer of troops or equipment, and there is no consensus on the expediency of strikes in the United States yet.

On January 8, Trump announced that the United States could strike Iran if the Arab country's authorities killed protesters. He added that the United States is monitoring the development of the protests.
