Firefighters rescued 50 cats and a dog from a burning house in Kaliningrad
In the Kaliningrad region, firefighters evacuated 50 cats and a dog from a private house where a ceiling had caught fire. This was reported on January 8 in the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
"In a private one-story house built before the war on Angarsk Street, rags were burning on the stove. As a result of the fire, the ceiling was damaged," the department noted.
Rescuers arrived at the scene, evacuated the animals and extinguished the fire. 15 employees and three pieces of equipment were involved to eliminate the consequences. The cause of the fire and other circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
Earlier, on July 14, 2025, in Cheboksary, firefighters evacuated 24 people from a burning house and rescued a cat who lost consciousness due to carbon monoxide. The EMERCOM staff took the animal out into the fresh air, performed an indirect heart massage and provided oxygen, after which the cat regained consciousness and was handed over to the owner. 17 specialists and six pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire on an area of 112 square meters, none of the people were injured.
