Mobilization and military regime for production facilities have been announced in Venezuela.

The Venezuelan authorities have announced the mobilization of military forces, and a "military regime" has been introduced for employees of the oil industry and other industries. The relevant decree has been published on the country's legal acts portal.

The document prescribes these measures to repel foreign aggression and comes into force for 90 days.

"It is immediately prescribed to mobilize the national armed forces throughout the country and use the existing potential of national power to repel foreign aggression <...> The personnel of such enterprises will be temporarily under military rule," the decree says.

The document, dated January 3 and signed by the head of state, the Vice President and members of the government, also orders to strengthen the protection of all the country's borders - land, air and sea.

On January 3, US President Donald Trump announced that the United States had successfully launched a large-scale strike against Venezuela. He noted that the President of the republic, Nicolas Maduro, and his wife, Celia Flores, were captured and taken away from the territory of the state.

On January 3, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico pointed out that Trump's military operation against Venezuela is yet another proof of the destruction of the world order that was established after World War II.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the US leadership to release Maduro. In addition, the Ministry also stressed the need to create conditions for resolving existing problems between the parties through diplomatic means.

Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez said on January 4 that most of Maduro's security personnel died as a result of US actions.
