Orban announced a possible increase in oil prices due to the events in Venezuela
The United States military operation in Venezuela and the capture of the republic's leader, Nicolas Maduro, could provoke an increase in the cost of oil on world markets. This was announced on January 3 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
According to him, the Hungarian government has already held urgent consultations with representatives of the energy sector.
"Today we held consultations with key players in the Hungarian energy sector to protect Hungary from the consequences of the Venezuelan crisis, which could lead to higher prices. The Hungarian government is working on this," he said in a Facebook post (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).
On the same day, American leader Donald Trump announced that the United States had successfully launched a large-scale strike on Venezuela. He noted that Maduro and his wife were captured and taken out of the territory of the state.
The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the American leadership to release Maduro. In addition, the Ministry also stressed the need to create conditions for resolving existing problems between the parties through diplomatic means.
Later, the American leader said that there was extensive evidence of Maduro's alleged crimes. Thus, the president of Venezuela, according to his information, personally supervised the activities of the Cartel de los Soles (Cartel of the Suns. — Ed.), who was transporting drugs to the United States.
