- Estonia has banned the entry of a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church, allegedly for security reasons.
Estonia has banned Roman Kolesnikov, a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), from entering the country, citing "security concerns" as the reason for the decision. This was reported on January 2 by the Estonian broadcasting company ERR.
According to the publication, in the fall of 2025, Kolesnikov began serving in the Estonian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
The Estonian Interior Ministry explained that the entry restriction is related to his position in support of Russia's foreign policy.
On April 15 last year, the Russian Embassy in Copenhagen told Izvestia that the Danish authorities continued to harass the parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. According to the diplomat, pressure is being exerted on the priests, including detention and a police investigation into possible attempts to influence the decisions taken by the Danish authorities.
All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
