A passenger on the Moscow metro who inadvertently fell on the way will have to pay compensation. This follows from the case file, which was reviewed by RIA Novosti on January 1.

The incident occurred on the morning of November 24, 2024. The passenger "inadvertently" ended up on the tracks of one of the stations, which led to an 11-minute traffic stop and disrupted the normal operation of the subway. The delay resulted in losses that the organization incurred due to lost profits.

At the trial, the man admitted his guilt and asked for a reduction in the amount of compensation. However, the amount of the claim is not specified.

"Taking into account the circumstances of this particular case, taking into account that the violation that caused losses to the plaintiff was committed by the defendant due to negligence, the court considered it necessary to reduce the amount to be recovered. <...> Partially satisfy the claims of the Moscow Metro State Unitary Enterprise for damages," the materials say.

The relevant court decision has entered into force.

Also on July 7, law enforcement agencies detained a 39-year-old woman in the capital who pushed her acquaintance onto the subway tracks. It was clarified that the man was not seriously injured, as the police managed to quickly lift him onto the platform.
