- In the USA, the owner of the company gave employees a bonus of 35 million rubles each.
In the United States, in the state of Louisiana, entrepreneur Graham Walker sold Fibrebond and issued a bonus to all employees, the total amount of which was $ 240 million (18.7 billion rubles). This was reported on December 24 by The Wall Street Journal.
Walker shared that he would agree to sell the company only to an investor who would accept the condition to allocate 15% of the proceeds in favor of new employees. Fibrebond employees did not own shares in the company and were not legally entitled to payments, but the entrepreneur wanted to make a parting gift for them in this way.
The funds were distributed among 540 employees. It is specified that on average each employee will receive about $ 443 thousand (35 million rubles). The money will be transferred within five years.
Fibrebond employees admitted that they would remember their boss almost like Santa Claus. According to the employees, this money has significantly changed their lives: someone has closed a mortgage and other loans, bought a car, paid for education.
Earlier, on December 25, CBS News reported that a man from Arkansas, USA, won the second largest Powerball lottery jackpot in history, which amounted to $1.817 billion (about 143 billion rubles). The winner's identity has not yet been disclosed, but he will have to make an important choice: receive the winnings in a lump sum, which will significantly reduce the amount, or extend the payments for 29 years with an annual increase of 5%.
