Evgenia Yunisova, housing and communal services expert, co-chairman of the NGO "Management House", told what to do if the sewer system in an apartment building is clogged.

In an interview with Radio 1 on December 17, she stressed that at the first sign of a serious blockage — if the water does not leave the riser or rises in plumbing fixtures — you should immediately contact the official services. According to her, the contacts of such services are usually located in the entrances on information stands, and such emergencies should be eliminated without delay.

She clarified that when contacting, it is important to clearly state the address and describe the problem in detail, as well as specify the application number, given that emergency services are working around the clock. Yunisova stressed that one should not try to eliminate serious blockages on their own, as this can only worsen the situation. According to her, if you can still try to clean the sink or bathtub with a plunger or household chemicals, then blockages of the common riser or main line are not eliminated in such ways and require the intervention of specialized services with professional equipment.

The expert also added that if the dispatching service of the management company does not respond, you should contact the city dispatching service using a single number.

On December 11, it was reported that since the beginning of the year, more than 4 km of water supply and sanitation networks have been updated in the Tagansky district of Moscow. During the reconstruction, modern polyethylene pipes of domestic production were used, which are resistant to loads and corrosion and reduce the risk of deposits, the Moscow City News Agency reports.

In November 360.ru He noted that experts call improper operation of sewers the main cause of blockages. Household and construction debris, napkins, wet towels and other items often get into the pipes, which cause traffic jams and emergencies.

In October, the governor of the Moscow Region, Andrey Vorobyov, proposed labeling wet wipes and toilet paper. The main goal of the initiative is to inform citizens about the proper disposal of these items, which, according to Vorobyov, will help reduce the number of blockages and reduce the cost of maintaining public infrastructure.
