BPS operators of the Russian Armed Forces helped a mother and son to evacuate Kupyansk

Military personnel of the Unmanned Systems Forces Unit (UAV) of the 27th separate Motorized Rifle brigade of the Zapad group of forces assisted two civilians to evacuate Kupyansk. The rescued mother and son told about their lives in the city previously occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The footage was shared by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 18.

The mother and son, moving away from the city, were spotted by the operator of an FPV drone at the moment when he was making a monitoring flyby of the northwestern outskirts of Kupyansk, liberated from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After making sure that the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) belongs to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, they signaled that they posed no danger and asked for help. The FPV drones immediately delivered a walkie-talkie to the civilians, a note with detailed instructions on how to negotiate, a description of a safe route, and escorted them to the evacuation point.

The rescued civilians, once safe, said they were under the control of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), as they refused their offer to evacuate — they were considered "unreliable" for this — so they had to hide from angry Ukrainian militants for a long time.

A military doctor with the call sign Medic said that exhausted civilians were experiencing stress, so they are undergoing procedures to neutralize its consequences.: Restorative vitamin droppers are provided and anti-stress medications are given.

A rescued woman named Valentina has terrible memories: her house was destroyed by Ukrainian militants. The family — father, mother, son and grandmother — were constantly forced to change their place of residence and spend the night in the basements of abandoned houses. After the liberation of the city, they did not wait for the Russian military to find them and decided to go on their own to meet the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces. But on the outskirts of Kupyansk, as Valentina said, the family came under fire from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as a result of which the father and grandmother died.

"When they (Ukrainian militants. — Ed.) they come to the houses, all their "patriots" begin to settle. And then they give up: where did the collaborators live? As one of the servicemen told us, she was already preparing an apartment for herself, for repairs, she said: we need the president (of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky. — Ed.) said that this housing, the collaborators will be ours, the land is ours," the woman summed up.

Upon arrival at the evacuation point, the rescued civilians received medical assistance. The Russian military also provided them with dry, clean clothes.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported a day earlier that the calculation of the Msta-S artillery installation of the 121st motorized rifle regiment of the Zapad group of forces stopped the movement of AFU groups that were trying to break through to the settlements of Moskovka, Radkovka and Sobolevka in the Kharkiv region. These villages are located, as specified in the department, in the direction of the liberated Kupyansk. The commander of the weapon with the call sign Sword, who took part in this operation, said that the Russian military were doing everything to keep the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters away from the city.
