Significant progress has been achieved during the negotiations with the Ukrainian delegation in Berlin. This was announced on December 14 by US President Donald Trump's special envoy Stephen Witkoff.

"Significant progress has been made, and a follow—up meeting will be held tomorrow morning," he said on the social network X.

Witkoff noted that the meeting lasted more than five hours. The peace settlement plan and economic programs were discussed.

The meeting of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky with Witkoff and the son-in-law of the American leader Jared Kushner began earlier in the day.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz was present at the beginning of the meeting. He sat down at the negotiating table with the Ukrainian delegation, but immediately left the negotiations after greeting the participants.
