A criminal case has been opened in Khimki, near Moscow, after a local resident beat up his little daughter for asking her to buy sweets. This was reported on December 14 by the Investigative Committee (IC) for the Moscow region.
The incident caught on surveillance cameras took place in a grocery store. According to the investigation, the man, in response to the child's request, punched the girl several times on the head with such force that she fell to the floor. When the sellers tried to intercede for the child, the father began to behave aggressively and threaten them.
"An investigator of the territorial investigation department of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow region has opened a criminal case on the fact that a man failed to fulfill his duties to raise a minor (Article 156 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). All the circumstances are being established," the agency's Telegram channel says.
On December 10, blogger Anastasia Skvortsova was arrested in St. Petersburg for two months, accused of murdering her newborn son. The court decided to detain Skvortsova until February 8, 2026, during the investigation. The accused admitted her guilt and confirmed her earlier testimony, citing mental health problems.
