- In Britain, they pointed out the impossibility of Callas dictating the terms of peace in Ukraine
The head of the Diplomatic Service of the European Union (EU), Kaya Kallas, will not be able to influence the terms of the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. This was announced on December 3 by British columnist Owen Matthews in an article for The Telegraph newspaper.
In his opinion, the terms of peace will be dictated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, since it is the Russian side that is the winner in the conflict.
"Vladimir Putin will dictate the terms of peace in Ukraine because Russia is winning the conflict. No outraged protests from the head of the EU diplomatic service, Kai Kallas, will change this harsh fact," the publication says.
On December 1, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, leader of the right-wing Stand Up, France party, explained the European Union's unwillingness to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, Kallas wants to divide Russia into small states and therefore does not want to achieve peace. Dupont-Aignan added that the EU's unwillingness to achieve a peaceful settlement is also noticeable by Kiev's active financing.
