Russia has embarked on a path of sustainable economic growth. This was announced on December 2 by Maxim Oreshkin, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, at the VTB forum "Russia is Calling!".

"We have embarked on the path of sustainable economic growth. Yes, there is a slowdown this year, but this is a planned slowdown, so systematic work and stability are very important now," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Oreshkin clarified that, according to the forecast of the Ministry of Economic Development for the current year, Russia's GDP growth will be 1%, after the country's economy grew by more than 4% last year. Growth is expected to increase by 1.3% next year, and by 2.7% in 2027.

Earlier in the day, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov announced at the Russia Is Calling forum that Russia's public debt should not exceed 20% of GDP. He also called it an advantage of the Russian economy. According to him, withdrawing funds from the economy through taxes is better for the interest rate, inflation and the economy.
