French President Emmanuel Macron discussed with American leader Donald Trump the conditions for resolving the conflict in Ukraine. This was reported on December 1 by the BMFTV TV channel with reference to the Elysee Palace.

"The French presidential administration told BFMTV that Emmanuel Macron discussed the situation in Ukraine with his American counterpart Donald Trump today after a meeting with [the President of Ukraine] Vladimir Zelensky," the article says.

During the conversation, Macron stated the importance of security guarantees for Ukraine. The two leaders also exchanged views on the conditions for lasting and long-term peace in Ukraine and on further steps in the mediation work undertaken by the United States.

Macron said on the same day that there was no ready-made plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine yet, and its details had not been finalized. The French leader added that the plan to resolve the crisis "is only at a preliminary stage."

Zelensky arrived at the Elysee Palace in Paris for a bilateral meeting with Macron on December 1. Axios portal also reported that the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, who heads the Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations on a peaceful solution to the conflict, is due to meet with Zelensky in Paris.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in turn, said on November 27 that Russia was ready for a serious discussion of the US plan for a settlement in Ukraine with the American side. He noted that the representatives of the countries will discuss each of the proposed items in detail at the negotiating table.
