The Airbus Aircraft Software Update Directive does not apply to Airbus A320 family aircraft operated by Russian airlines. This was announced on November 29 by the representative of the Federal Air Transport Agency Artem Korenyako.

"A preliminary analysis of the issued directive has shown that it does not apply to Airbus A320 family aircraft operated by Russian airlines," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

Korenyako added that flight safety is a key priority for all participants of the Russian air transport system, without exception. The Ministry of Transport and the Federal Air Transport Agency will continue to pay close attention to this, he noted.

Earlier, on November 28, Reuters reported that Airbus was urgently recalling about 6,000 of its A320 model aircraft for urgent repairs and troubleshooting of flight control software. It was noted that the decision to recall was made after the October 30 incident in the United States with a JetBlue flight between Cancun (Mexico) and Newark (New York).

The plane en route from Cancun, Mexico to Newark, made an emergency landing in Florida on October 30, and at least 15 passengers were hospitalized. The airline noted that the Airbus A320 aircraft was diverted to Tampa International Airport when turbulence was detected.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
