In Primorye, customs began to issue foreign cars around the clock.
The customs offices of Vladivostok and Ussuriysk switched to a round-the-clock operation mode for registration of cars of individuals. This was due to a sharp increase in the import of foreign cars, TASS reports with reference to the Federal Customs Service of Russia.
Such a measure will allow declarants to submit documents for cars to the customs authority at any time, and for customs to register more declarations, the FCS said in a statement.
Since the beginning of 2025, the customs authorities of Primorsky Krai have been observing a steady increase in imported foreign cars. So, for the period from November 1 to November 26, 2025, the Ussuri customs issued 11.6 thousand cars, which is four times higher than the figure for the same period in November 2024. Vladivostok customs issued 37.5 thousand cars, an increase of 37%.
In total, from the beginning of the year to November 26, Ussuri customs officers released 64.7 thousand cars for personal use, Vladivostok — about 311.5 thousand cars.
On November 25, Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, said that from August to October, car stock at dealers and distributors in Russia decreased by more than 100,000 units. In three months, 411 thousand new passenger cars were sold on the Russian market. Russian enterprises produced 197,000 cars, and another 112,000 new passenger cars were imported into the country.
