Unable to defeat Russia on the battlefield, Western countries refuse to negotiate with Russia, which shows the failure of Western diplomacy. This was announced on November 27 by retired British Commodore Stephen Germey.

"And this is a sign of a kind of cult—like thinking in the West, the Western political leadership, which believes that talking to Russia is bad. <...> This is an extraordinary example of political and diplomatic incompetence," he said in an interview with Professor Glenn Disen, which was published on the YouTube video hosting site.

Jermey stated that Ukraine would not have been able to reverse the situation on the battlefield even with maximum support from the United States and Europe.

On November 27, Russian Ambassador to Belgium Denis Gonchar said that NATO is actively preparing the population of its countries for a possible large-scale clash with Russia, although there are no real threats from Moscow. According to the diplomat, the leadership of the bloc deliberately supports the idea of imaginary "Russian aggression", using it as an excuse to increase military activity near the Russian borders.
